 Community Engagement

This name change effort is rooted in years of listening, learning, and community-building. Coordination with the Longfellow Community Council, Council Member Chowdhury’s Ward 12 office, and City of Minneapolis staff has ensured that our process follows the city’s requirements while reflecting broad and sustained community engagement and our shared community values. 
 

Engagement with City Mechanisms
• Official sign unveiling at Lena Smith Blvd & 36th Street (November 1, 2025)

• Date of Publication makes name change official / City Staff transition work begins (September 20, 2025)
